Matt Hougan

Matt will be teaching us how to take our goose calling to the next level. 

Matt has 25 years hunting experience in the woods and waters of Ohio and neighboring states.  Now currently living in SW Ohio Matt Hougan has proven himself to among the nations top waterfowl hunters holding license in five states. 

Matt began his professional waterfowl calling career with a win at the Ohio State Goose calling contest in 2000.  Since then he has won fifteen championships in both duck and goose calling including multiple wins in Ohio state duck and goose, New York State Goose, Kentucky State goose, back to back wins at the Keystone Regional duck.  He also holds more than 20 top 5 finishes since 2000.

Matt's reputation in the industry has lead to several product endorsements such as Foiles Migrators, Final Approach, Black Water Decoys, and Little Big Horn Outdoors.  He has appeared in videos, cable hunting shows, and T.V. commercials and radio shows.  He is also a fixture at some of the countries largest outdoor trade shows and retail outlets representing Foiles Migrators duck and goose calls and Final Approach blinds, conducting waterfowl hunting seminars as well as calling instructional seminars. 

Matt has been trained by the best in the business to be a waterfowl guide.  He has worked as a guide at D&J hunt club, Harpoles Heartland Lodge, and Porters Hunt club.  He also partnered for a short time with a small guide service in Northern, Ohio.

In addition to being very active in the waterfowl hunting community Matt donates a great deal of his time to Special Youth Challenge Ministries.  SYC is a not for profit Christian group of volunteers that specialize in showing God's love by taking special needs kids (terminal, physically handicap, or suffered a chronic life altering condition) on all expense paid hunting trips around Ohio.
