Big Isand DU February 2, 2008
All Occasions Catering The DUX Event in cooperation with the Waterfowl Bootcamp was a HUGE success. Some of the biggest names in the industry were on hand to provide a collaborative learning experience. We raffled off a TON of Avery merchandise at the DUX event and raised a good amount of money for the ducks. Keep an eye out for next summer’s event. But in the meantime start thinking about our regular membership banquet coming up on February 2, 2008.

WATERFOWLERS BOOTCAMP STARTS UP IN OHIO
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Merango, OH, April 24, 2006: A one day boot camp for water fowlers will be held June 17th, 2006 from 9:30-4:30PM at the Cardinal Center Campground in Morrow County, 616 State Route 61 Marengo, Ohio 43334. Admission to participants is free. A raffle and silent auction of donated items will be held. Any money collected the day of the event will be donated to Ducks Unlimited. According to Brad Craley, Chairman for the host group, Big Island Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the main purpose of the festival is to educate waterfowl hunters through local and national pros on how to become more successful in the field. "We have an aggressive seminar schedule planned for the day, with pro-staffers from local and national companies giving seminars on topics such as duck and goose calling techniques, shooting instruction from laydown blinds, dog handling, decoy placement and strategies, and much more. This great event gives beginner and veteran water fowlers the opportunity to learn new tactics as well as the unique ability to rub shoulders with some of the best in the business" Vendors which will be present at the event include: Foiles Championship Calls, Buck Gardner Game Calls, Drake Waterfowl Systems, Real Geese, Final Approach, Wad Wizard, Zink Calls, Avery Outdoors, Gander Mountain, Dicks Sporting Goods, Duck Water Boats, KES Waterfowlers, Greatlakeswaterfowler.com, Ohio Waterfowl Association, OhioWaterfowler.com, Ohio Outdoor News, McNamara Taxidermy, GK Calls, Doom Decoy Co., Byer's Chevrolet, and Norton Sporting Goods. Ducks Unlimited stands as a global force in wetlands and wildlife conservation. DU's conservation programs have evolved and expanded over the years to address the habitat needs of waterfowl and other wildlife on ever changing landscapes. Since the inception of Ducks Unlimited in 1937, their projects have been responsible for over 9.4 million acres of restored, protected, and enhanced wetlands. In Ohio there are over 300 DU projects conserving more than 70,000 acres of both wetland and upland habitat.
